A PDF crop box controls which portion of a page a viewer displays. It does not necessarily delete text, images, or other objects outside that box.

Use cropping for layout

Crop PDF can trim visible margins for reading or printing. FileToast changes the page’s crop box and leaves the underlying content in the document.

Do not use cropping to conceal sensitive details

Information outside the visible area may still be recoverable. Adding a white rectangle or a text overlay also does not establish that the original content has been removed. FileToast does not currently offer a secure redaction tool.

Metadata is a separate concern

Remove PDF metadata clears standard document information and the XMP metadata stream. It does not remove sensitive text, attachments, comments, or hidden objects elsewhere in the file.
